Personal statement
I’m applying for a place in Business and Management and at present ,I’m studying the foundation course in the University of Exeter .It help me build a solid foundation in English study and communication .I’m interested in the economic learning and that’s the reason why I make this decision .
I’ve been keen on this course for a long time ,since Nov.11,2001,when China together with the rest of the world,celebrated its ultimate attainment of WTO membership .As Chinese student ,I feel quite excited and want to study at this area .The encouraging career opportunities made possible by the opening of China's financial sector .It not only a subject with bright future ,but I have a passion for it.
I have worked for the Student Union a long time and played an important role as Cochairman I’m in charge of every expenses and organized plenty of activities ,namely the School culture festival ,which is the most important event In school .Therefore I have a good leadership and splendid team-work ability .Meanwhile I was the Commissary in charge of entertainment ,I have lots of experience in performance ,all of them were warm-welcomed .
Except the role I played in school ,I have a colorful leisure time .Playing
Piano is a part of my life ,I have studied it for 9 years and won several awards .It help me growing my confidential and a good understanding in art .Also I participated in a local charity,helping the aged who are homeless,raising money by holding an outdoor concert .I was the organizer and primary performer .
As for my personality and character ,I believe myself can suit the requirements of the university ,I found myself a ambitious girl ,with enthusiastic towards life .I try to do my best in everything I do ,never give me any chance to regret .Therefore ,I have a good judgment from my teachers .I’m punctual and orderly ,too .Also ,I’m curious about the unknown zone .
In The Wealth of Nations,Adam Smith made the classic observation that individuals acting in their own self-interest can benefit society more than they expect to.I wish to become a well-trained financial manager,a profession that will bring me a strong sense of achievement.This is because,while enlarging the corporate value through my personal efforts as an individual,I will also achieve important self-actualization.This perfect fusion between corporate value and personal value is also concerned about two different cultures .Try to mix them up is one of the reason I decided to study at this course.
