As far as iam concerned,Americans tend to do more physical activity than Chinese. It is not uncommon for us to spot Americans working out in the morning as well as evening. In contrast,it is widely known that most Chinese people do not do exercise. This is mainly due to the fact that increasingly stiff competition in the modern Chinese society has deprived people from free time.Furthermore, most Chinese still do not have the awareness of doing exercise. Moreover, even though many people know that physical activity is essential to their health, thay are just too lazy or too busy to do any exercise..
I personally think competitive sports are detrimental to individuals' physical and mental well-being,for these sports require a huge amount of strength and energy. In this case, training can be highly stressful and athletes are likely to get hurt.Admittedly, competitive sports can enable people to achieve higher standards while compelling them to train hard.Nevertheless, the disadvantageous factors outbalance the beneficial factors.
Speaking of myself,I often go swimming to keep fit since swimming is probably one of the most all-rounded sports in the world.I started swimming several months before because I felt out of shape and some friends of mine told me that swimming would get me back in shape.Back then,I swam like a brick and was so afraid of water. But now,I can swim like a fish.I can not only do breaststroke and backstroke, but also freestyle.Besides,I also go hiking on breezy sunny days to keep fit and let my hair down.
