Some businesses now say that ao one call smoke cigarettes in any of their offices.Some governments have banned smoking in all public places.This is a good idea though it takes away some of our freedom.
As we know,smoking is harmful not only to our health but also to the environment.Smoking can lead to many diseases,such as lung cancer.Smoking affects non smokers more than it does smokers.Ratio of passive smokers getting ill is higher than that of smokers.So,many nonsmokers are against smoking.
In public places,the harm of smoking is greater.This is connected with another effect of smoking.That is,smoking pollutes environment by giving much poisonous vapour off into the air.
Therefore,that the government ban smoking is very necessary and important to us.It is a measure to protect our health and environment.So many people,especially nonsmokers are for the policy.
Some people say that it takes away some of our freedom.I think it is a one-sided view.If one wants to smoke,he may smoke in private,not in the public places.In fact,smokers still have the freedom of smoking.
But,I think,smokers had better give up smoking,not only in private places,but also in the public places,everywhere.It will be beneficial to ail of us.

In modern society, smoking has become a social issue. Some companies don’t allow their staff smoking in the office, and even in certain countries, it is a ban that forbid smoking in all public places. Despite of depriving smokers of their freedom, I agree with that policy strongly.

Firstly, smoking in the face of non-smokers without approval is an impolite and selfish action. Most non-smokers won’t be pleased, or they even feel abhorrent with the smell of smoke. Besides suffering from the terrible smell, non-smokers must face a reality that the harmful matter in cigarettes, such as nicotine, will damage the health of passive smokers more than active smokers, which is well accepted by both the specialists and the public. Hence, in the eyes of most people, it must be a necessary decision to forbid smoking in public places.

Secondly, smokers play negative role models for kids. Nowadays, the age starting to smoke becomes much younger than before. Besides the weakness of self-discipline of adolescent, the adults, maybe their parents, lead them to the wrong direction.

However, smokers must smoke, and seldom give it up. They have been accustomed to this for tens of years. “No smoking in public places” doesn’t mean they lose their right to smoke. An effective way to resolve this dilemma is to open more places for smokers only. They might be set up in every carriage of a train, in certain rooms of a library, out of offices within a company, etc.

Therefore, it is a constructive idea to ban smoking in public places, while at the same time, smoking only room make smoker more convenient, which benefits both sides.
