西汉和亲政策是中国历史上西汉王朝对当时的北方民族“匈奴”采取的一种外交政策.其政策的演变大致经历了三个阶段.第一个阶段是汉武帝元光二年(公元前133年)以前,基本上实行与匈奴“和亲”的政策.第二个阶段是汉武帝时期,是联合乌孙讨伐匈奴的时期.第三个阶段是汉宣帝时期,因为第二时期对匈奴战争政策,使其战力下降,为了减少损失又对匈奴采取和亲政策.西汉对匈奴政策的演变,是与其内外形势的变化和汉匈双方的力量消长密切相关的.
